Dog and Cat Days of Summer
Post Date:09/30/2008
We held a late summer event in an effort to provide much needed low cost services to all animal guardians in our area. 129 total animals received care, 81 received microchips, and a total of 198 vaccinations were administered. The demand far exceeded our expectations and served as proof for the need of low cost services in other municipalities as 75 percent of the animals and guardians serviced reside outside of SVACA's jurisdiction. We also held an adoption event where our goal was to place as many animals as possible into forever homes as the late summer is historically a slow period; 15 animals, or 25 percent of our adoptable animals, were placed into new forever homes. So, overall it was a hectic, but very productive day.
