Animal Surrender

Occasionally, due to various circumstances, animal owners/guardians often feel they have no choice but to surrender their animal at the Animal Care Center.

SVACA accepts adoptable surrendered animals from residents of Campbell, Monte Sereno and Santa Clara only.

Please know that despite our best efforts, we are not able to find new homes for all of the animals surrendered to us. This is why we ask you to please consider every alternative available to you before giving up your animal. Please feel free to contact us before making this very difficult decision as other options may exist.

The Humane Society Silicon Valley also accepts surrendered animals for a fee.

Fees

There is a $40.00 surrender fee for Dog/Cat/Other.
There is a $60.00 fee for Dog/Cat Litters with or without adult.

Euthanasia (unadoptable) plus Disposal
Small Animals $35.00
Dog/Cat/Rabbit $50.00
Dog/Cat Litters $60.00

Deceased Animals Disposal
Small Animals $25.00
Dog/Cat/Rabbit $50.00
Dogs and others over 150 lbs. $100.00

An additional $50.00 fee will also be charged for animals surrendered to our staff in the field.
